When he’s not behind the lens snapping photos of his favourite coffee joints - or spending time with his wife and kids, you can find Jonny at our store in the largest mall in North America, West Edmonton Mall located in Alberta. We sat down with Jonny to learn about his journey at BN, his passion for photography, and what frames he’s rocking at the moment.
You’ve been with Bailey Nelson for nearly 6 months now. Can you tell us a bit about how you started out at BN, and your favorite part of working with the team?
I’ve been with Bailey Nelson since November. I have very good friends that love working for Bailey (shout out to Nadia and Bethany) and I had to see what all the fuss was about! My favourite part of working with the team is definitely meeting so many unique people -- and our staff group chat, which sometimes goes off the rails.
What are your hobbies outside of work?
Taking photos of people, cafes, clothing, my kids, and my wife. Making music in Ableton (software for music production). Roasting coffee on my deck. And starting and stopping Keto every 6 days, because I'm a monster and carbs are too good.
If you could invite one guest over for dinner, living or not, who would it be and why?
Bruce Springsteen! I would serve him empanadas and ask him how he’s able to express his soul through all of his songs. I would also ask him if his kids think he's lame.
What does your ideal weekend look like?
My perfect weekend would consist of walks in River Valley with my family, pizza at Tony's, coffee at Farrow, burgers at Wishbone. Then I would make horchata for friends in my backyard! (Note: Horchata is a plant-based milk beverage from Spain. Yum!)

If you could travel to one place in the world to visit, what would it be?
I would travel to Sweden and buy a pair of jeans.
What are you listening to at the moment?
When the weather starts to pick up it's a lot of 6lack, Project Pablo and Toro Y Moi.
If you had to bring three things to a deserted island, what would they be?
Le Labo Santal 33 fragrance, chicken nuggets, and digestive enzymes (for the nuggets).
And lastly, what is your favourite BN frame at the moment?
Bruce in Prosecco! They make me feel fancy and remind me of how much I like gummy candies.
